I know almost nothing about the late 40s and had no idea where to go with that! But you know, each author can take the story where (and to whatever time) they want!
For a hot minute I was tempted to take the story way back in time, but I thought I might get tarred and feathered. Then again, that could still be the outcome for poor Joey!
I was really trying to tie some things together and focus the storyline a bit – and I wanted to give poor Joey a little more agency. It sounds like I left it in a good place for you, so that’s great!
Really enjoyed the self-described "cheesy gumshoe detective novel" of this ongoing multiple-author endeavor! The depth and suspense that is created in each new chapter makes this a much anticipated read each week!
The 70s had great music, but they had their share of dark times. The Vietnam war was still going on. Kent State shootings. Watergate. The energy crisis. Prevalent drug culture. Iran Hostages. Etc.
And The Beatles broke up. 🤣 Somehow humans seem to muddle through and things work themselves out. 🤓
Still loving this challenge. It all flows so much better than I ever would have expected while still having a nice signature touch from each writer. Can't wait for more!
Late commenting but had to say I loved how you went meta with the found novel! And such a seamless transition on the time travel with plenty of great details before and after, such as the victory curls and the picket signs. Nice job, Jackie!
This was great! I wish we could have stayed in the 40s a bit more but oh well.
I’m enjoying this crazy story and I’m looking forward to making it a bit crazier next week!

Fair enough! I probably know less then you so no judgment I just like the overall 40s vibes sometimes. I totally get the BIG time jump temptation!
I really enjoyed what you wrote and you gave me a perfect jumping off point thank you! Super pumped I get to be a part of this.

Yes indeed! All I’ll say as a teaser is it’s DEFINITELY time for some Joey agency in this story.
Groovy chapter, Jackie! I like that we’re leaping through time now.
Thanks! We needed to make sure to deliver on the promise of the title. It’s up to someone else to bring up the ghosts! 😂

I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I found it a lot of fun to read, and it was great to be able to participate. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Joey is having a crazy week. And it just keeps getting more confusing. Poor Joey. 🤣
I could have written a 1970s chapter from memory. Maybe Joey will start acting like Columbo now. 🤣
I really don’t know where the antiwar protest came from. Maybe it’s a consequence of living through the past week! 🤣

Thanks! And I agree. It’s a great little story.
This is marvelous.
Thank you so much!
